Media Sales Account Executive

Salt Lake magazine- the magazine for Utah, also the publishers of Utah Style & Design and Utah Bride & Groom, is seeking to hire an Account Executive that is highly dedicated, outgoing, aggressive, determined, punctual, creative, energetic, and loves a fun environment where ideas are always welcome.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time Monday through Friday 8:00-5:00.

COMPENSATION

Strong base pay + lucrative commission structure.

BENEFITS

Monthly expense reimbursements, medical/dental/vision insurance, three weeks PTO after one year, paid holidays, and one week off after Christmas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Executive will be responsible for growing and cultivating a book of business through structuring effective advertising campaigns for clients. Building solid relationships with clients will be crucial. Ability to work under pressure and hard deadlines. Ability to be flexible, balance many tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment. Account Executive will be responsible for qualifying leads that are a strong fit for our niche publications, closing new business, and hitting personal revenue goals. Individuals must have strong time-management and self-discipline skills, as well as be welcoming to leadership guidance.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Marketing, PR, Advertising, or related field. Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation. Must be computer savvy for creating proposals and contracts, constant emailing, client research, calendar scheduling, and frequent utilization of a CRM tool. Passion for helping other businesses to flourish. Must have previous experience in leadership and management. Must have a resume that shows consistent previous employment.

Editorial Intern

Start Date: 09/02/24

End Date: 11/18/24

Compensation: $500 stipend

Qualifications of Applicant:

We are looking for motivated, engaged students interested in writing, editing, marketing, photography, design and social media. Previous experience in these fields is recommended but not required. Proficiency in AP Style, WordPress, Adobe and Canva is a plus. 

Description of Job Duties:

Interns will assist the editorial team with producing print and digital content. Responsibilities may include writing original articles, assisting members of the editorial team on research and story preparation, editing others’ work, uploading print articles on WordPress, taking photos and drafting social media posts. The internship can be tailored to the individual goals and interests of the student. Any intern who is interested will be published in one of our three magazines. 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Students at this internship will increase their knowledge of editorial work for a magazine. Editors will train students on how our magazines are created and students will have the opportunity to create original content for our magazines.
  • Students will gain skills in WordPress, Adobe and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
  • Students will be trained on every step of magazine writing, including pitching a story, researching a topic, interviewing subjects, writing copy and addressing edits. Editorial staff will guide students through each step of the process.
